It’s hard to deny that dull complexion can lower someone’s confidence abruptly. Based on what Dhaval Bhanusali stated, a New York City-based dermatologist, dull skin is a bit of an all-encompassing term for skin that doesn’t look healthy. The reason why it happens to someone is mainly because of a pile up of dead skin cells, debris from the day (pollution) or even dehydration. 1. Try to reduce alcohol intake

Though alcohol can make you feel relaxed for some reason in certain occasion, drinking it more than the amount you’re supposed to take is not good for both your health and skin. It has been proven that it’s not good for your skin as it can increase the blood flow to the skin’s surface, resulting in a flushed appearance that can become permanent over time for some people. So, it is better for you to keep your alcohol intake at minimum amount to achieve healthier skin.

2. Make sure to eat good nutrition

It is believed that you are what you eat. The quality of food that you take can determine the health of both your body and skin. Eating food which is high of fatty acids like fish, especially salmon, walnuts, flax, seed, etc can boost collagen and ell production below the skin’s surface. Foods that are rich of antioxidant also can fight skin inflammation and free radical damage.

3. Exfoliate

Moisturizing dead skin is such a big no and no use. Dead skin can make your skin look flaky and it doesn’t just go away like that with moisturizer. Exfoliation is the key to brighter complexion. Exfoliating your skin can also be done in so many different ways, such as using washcloth, using exfoliating cleanser or scrub, or even going deeper with skin cleansing brush.

4. Take vitamin C

Daily dose of vitamin C is good to fight signs of aging since it is a nutrient-rich antioxidant. It is also known as skin-brightening-agent too. Your skin will definitely get benefit from vitamin C.

5. Never skip moisturizer

Skipping moisturizer will cause skin to look older and fine lines to appear even more visible. You should wear daily moisturizer with SPF in the morning and a hydrating moisturizer before bed.
